8 Week Ashtanga Led Course - Alison Clancy
Ashtanga Yoga is the foundation practice for what we know today as 'vinyasa flow', 'rocket yoga' and even 'power yoga'. It's an excellent way for students and teachers to develop a self-practice and to fully master the foundation poses.
The Ashtanga practice is made up of a primary, secondary and advanced series that students progress through. The Primary Series is the foundation series and is a set sequence of postures practiced in the same way each class. The breath and the drishti (gaze) accompany each movement. It is this repetition of poses that builds the discipline and great strength we associate with Ashtanga yoga and yogis.
(If you've been practicing with us for a while, many of the Ashtanga postures from the first, second and even third series will be familiar to you.)
In this 8 week course running every Wednesday 6.30pm starting September 4th through to October you will learn the essentials of the Primary Series. Alison is an experienced Vinyasa, Forrest and Ashtanga yoga teacher and teaches power with Mandala.
Price of This Course Includes:
- €95 for all 8 Classes payable in advance.
- Laminated 'cheat sheets' of the primary series including opening and closing mantra.
- 10% discount off any of the October weekend of Day Christensen workshops.
NOTE:
- This Ashtanga class is best practiced as a series to get the full benefits.
- INDIVIDUAL classes can be attended on a DROP IN basis (€18) or for students on any class pass.
- Students on the unlimited monthly pass (€110) may also attend.
- However, students not signed up to the course/series are not eligible for cheat sheets or the Day Christensen discount.
