Join us for a deeply restorative afternoon exploring the Fire Element and reconnecting with the energy of the heart.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is rooted in the interplay of the Five Elements, the shifting balance of Yin and Yang, and the cultivation of Qi (life force energy).
The five elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water — exist throughout nature and within each of us.
In this workshop we will explore the Fire Element, which represents the peak of Yang energy in the Five Element cycle.
Associated with the season of Summer, Fire represents joy, warmth, connection and vitality.
Physically, the Fire element relates to the cardiovascular system and blood circulation.
Emotionally it governs joy, love, connection and emotional balance.
When our Fire energy is balanced we feel open, joyful and connected.
When it becomes excessive or depleted we may experience restlessness, anxiety, insomnia or emotional overwhelm.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Fire element is linked with the Heart, Small Intestine, Pericardium (Heart Protector) and Triple Burner meridians.
The Pericardium plays a key role in protecting our emotional wellbeing, while the Triple Burner regulates temperature and fluid balance throughout the body.

This 2.5 hour immersive workshop, hosted by Acupuncturist Lucia O’Byrne and Senior Yoga Teacher Susan Nà Dhubhlaoich, will include:
• A clear introduction to Five Elements Theory
• A deeper exploration of the Fire Element and seasonal balance
• Understanding the Fire personality type
• Discussion of common physical and emotional imbalances linked with Fire
• A gentle Acupuncture experience stimulating Heart and Small Intestine Qi points
• A 75-minute grounding Yin Yoga practice designed to activate and balance the Heart and Small Intestine meridians
The yoga practice will be primarily Yin, with a touch of Yang movement to honour the rising energy of the season.
Expect a deeply restorative and nourishing experience that supports emotional balance, heart energy and nervous system regulation.

Yin Yoga draws from the ancient Chinese philosophy of Daoism, which emphasises balance between the complementary forces of Yin and Yang — stillness and movement, cool and warm, dark and light.
In Yin Yoga, poses are held for longer periods (2–3 minutes) allowing gentle stress and pressure to stimulate the body’s meridian pathways.
This encourages the healthy flow of Qi (vital energy) through the connective tissues, joints, bones and nervous system — areas where deep tension often accumulates.
The practice is deeply calming and meditative, helping the nervous system shift into “rest and digest” mode.
Acupuncture works by inserting fine, sterile needles into specific points along the body’s meridian pathways.
These points help regulate the flow of Qi, supporting the body’s natural healing processes.
While commonly used for pain and physical conditions, acupuncture is increasingly recognised for supporting stress relief, emotional balance and overall wellbeing.
